Victor “Vic” Kustra joined Weiss Burkardt Kramer LLC as an Associate in October 2017. His practice of education law includes a concentration in labor, employment, and general Solicitor work.
As part of his work, Vic has represented clients at numerous administrative hearings, including tax assessment appeals, employee discipline hearings, student discipline hearings, teacher tenure appeals, and unemployment compensation hearings. Vic regularly assists clients with various complex legal issues involving the interpretation of State and Federal laws, including the Public School Code of 1949.
Prior to starting his career with WBK, Vic completed his undergraduate studies at Slippery Rock University, where he earned his degree in criminal justice/criminology, Summa Cum Laude. He went on to pursue his legal education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While at Pitt Law, Vic served as a Staff Editor on the Journal of Technology Law & Policy, and his student article was among the few chosen for publication. He also became a distinguished member of several other organizations at Pitt Law, including the Mock Trial team. As a member of the Mock Trial team, Vic competed in several mock trial competitions across the country, and received First Place in the ABA Labor and Employment Law Trial Advocacy Competition (Philadelphia Region).
Vic is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Association of Municipal and School Solicitors.
